It is thanks to this period that I learned my mother-tongue, how to cook in the Bamoum main dish ‘Pen Njapche’ (fufu corn and huckubery) mixed with egussi. And how to pray with the Quran. I am also versed with farm work because during the planting and harvesting season, I often create time to assist my mother and grandmother in the village. As a mother I am doing all my best to transmit all the above skills gathered from the village to my children.’’
